In addition to overseeing its Foundations Certification, which focuses on the basics of the Onnit Academy System, the Onnit Academy offers Specialist Certifications. The Specialist Certifications expand on the Academy’s basic principles and give trainers the opportunity to specialize in specific fitness and conditioning tools. Currently, trainers can earn Specialist Certification in battle ropes, kettlebells, steel mace, and steel clubs.

Three Reasons to Work with a Personal Trainer

Based in Colorado, Alexander Garbiso is a personal trainer and the owner of Mile High Nutrition and Fitness, through which he trains clients in different locations, often at their own homes. Alexander Garbiso previously worked as a personal trainer at Bally Sport as well as 24-Hour Fitness.

Most people go to the gym, do their work-out routines on their own, and go home. However, an alternative is to work with a personal trainer. Here are some of the best reasons to invest in a personal trainer-assisted regime.

1. Personalized plan. Personal trainers understand that not all body types are the same and a good trainer will have the experience and knowledge to tailor a program to each individual’s physiology and goals. As a result, work-outs are bound to be more effective.

2. Varied and interesting routine. Many gym dwellers fall into the trap of doing the same work-out every day, which is bound to become boring. Personal trainers know how to mix things up by including different types of exercises, and this can be very motivating.

3. Correct form. Personal trainers are experts at helping those looking to correct and perfect their exercise forms. The trainer will teach both good form and good exercise habits - two key elements in any training regimen that will keep workouts safe and effective.
